Terms of Use.
Short version: SoloFamily is a private iPhone app for your own parenting notes. You own your data. We do not touch it. If you buy Pro, Apple's App Store terms apply to the purchase.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using SoloFamily ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please delete the app.
2. The app is a tool, not advice
SoloFamily is a personal record-keeping tool. Its output, including PDF exports, CSV files, and in-app totals, is generated from the data you enter. It is not legal advice, not a custody evaluation, not an affidavit, and not a substitute for qualified legal, medical, educational, or financial counsel. If you intend to use exports in a legal proceeding, discuss that with your lawyer first.
3. Your data
Your journal stays on your device unless you enable iCloud sync through Apple or export/share files yourself. See the Privacy Policy for full detail. You are responsible for backing up your own data. The app provides JSON backup and PDF/CSV export tools to help, but SoloFamily has no server-side copy and cannot recover data you lose.
4. Pro purchase
SoloFamily Pro unlocks optional features, including PDF export, CSV export, Face ID or Touch ID lock, receipt and book OCR, daily reminder, and Siri Shortcuts without a paywall prompt. Two purchase options may be offered:
- Lifetime, one-time purchase: a single payment with no renewal. It remains unlocked on the Apple ID that made the purchase.
- Yearly subscription: auto-renewing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. The subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Prices, trial duration, renewal details, and availability are shown in the app at the moment of purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled through Apple's standard channels at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. No warranty
The app is provided "as-is", with no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. We try to make it reliable, but bugs happen and data can be lost. Back up your important data, and do not rely on the app as your only record of anything that matters.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, SoloFamily and its author are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app, including loss of data, loss of income, inconvenience, or effects on legal or personal disputes. Your sole remedy is to stop using the app and to seek a refund from Apple if eligible.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code beyond what is permitted by law.
- Do not use the app to store content belonging to other people without their consent.
- Do not use the app in a way that violates applicable law.
8. Changes
These terms may be updated occasionally. The "Last updated" date above will reflect changes. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the revised terms.
